White and Marc Ching cofounded the rescue and knew that they needed to help. When White went to get the dog from animal control, it turned out that he was now evidence in a police investigation on his owner and could not be touched.
It took a month before Hank was released and allowed to just be a dog again. Ching received the call from animal control and headed right over.
