Not only do animals of different species co-exist many times, but sometimes, take co-existing to the next level and form amazingly strong bonds and relationships with one-another. Harley, the African Pygmy hedgehog, and Loki, the 2.5 month kitten, seem like very unlikely friends. Their friendship all began with Loki being especially cautious of Harley’s sharp spikes, and understandably so!
Hedgehogs aren’t related to porcupines in any way, but they sure look like they could be! Better safe, than sorry. On top of that, cats are very sensitive to any changes in their environments.
These pet parents had the good idea of filming the first time these two cuties met. On top of being very cautious, Loki also appeared very confused, trying to find out exactly where her new buddy’s face is and understand why he’s so pokey!
