Sassy was so special to Dudley that she inspired her to found The Grey Muzzle Organization in 2008 which gives senior dogs a second chance. It also provides funding for shelter, sanctuaries, rescue groups, and nonprofit organizations that care for senior dogs.
The dogs they support don’t just get help finding new homes, they also get dog beds, medical care, and water therapy to help their older bodies adjust. The group now has more than seventy-five volunteers and has given over $750,000 in grants to help the older pups all over the nation.
