It was an incredibly hot and humid day in Perryman, Maryland, with temperatures lingering around a scorching 100 degrees. A team of firefighters were fighting to save the life of Mabel: a St. Bernard, who had fallen into a dry well. The rescue may not have been routine, but was far from simple.

The rescue was incredibly detailed, and required the effort of the entire firefighting team. You may be wondering how exactly you rescue a dog from a well! The team utilized a pulley system, and placing a harness on her. The firefighters weren’t the only team that day, on call to rescue poor Mabel.
