Kenneth would bag and chop the wood himself and sell it for $5 a bag. The following year, Jessica saw Kenneth again on the same corner trying to sell his kindling wood, but no Helen. Kenneth told Jessica that Helen had passed just a few weeks ago and he was still in need of money to pay her bills.
While she was there, a funeral procession drove by, Kenneth took off his straw hat and put it over his heart as the cars drove through the intersection.
