After the shooting death of Keith Lamont Scott, law enforcement had to try to contain the unrest in the aftermath. Jayden’s mom, Deanna, wrote on the Facebook page, “Love What Matters†about how Jayden had woken crying.
The next morning on the way to school, she explained to him how officers had been hurt that night. Jayden asked her if he could bring the police some donuts and give them hugs.
