When Sassy was adopted, Altamirano was told that she wouldn’t live past her third birthday due to congenital deformities. Although she’s supposed to be the normal-sized pit bull, she is full grown and only about a quarter of their size.
Sassy’s front legs are twisted inward and she has flipper-like feet with no bones. Her tongue is way too large for her mouth and it is difficult for her to breath.
