Vaseline! Nancy was the one who discovered the solution, but Robert was the one who happily shared the news online. The pesky squirrel was very consistent; providing many laughs to the Kampfs, and thousands of viewers, alike. The whole ordeal truly looks like something out of a comedy film; at one point with the squirrel jumping towards what appears to be nothing.

Robert explains, “For anyone who is concerned about the squirrel, he still raids our other two feeders, and the vegetable garden. The tiny amount of Vaseline used is non-toxic; the kind used for lip balm.â€
It seems that the squirrel quickly learned his lesson on that particular pole, and has not gone back and tried again. Surely, the birds are happy they can finally enjoy their own bird seed!
