The rehabilitation process took four years to complete as the pair had to know how to find food, climb, make nests, and socialize with other orangutans.

Once they graduated “forest school,” they were sent to the International Animal Rescue’s (IAR) pre-release island where they were monitored to see if they could survive well on their own.
