Many apparently did not know what the American Civil Liberties Union’s standpoint was on the issue. The Union says that it is constitutional for public schools to teach students about several different religions, so long as they’re not enforcing the beliefs upon the students.
The ACLU says that no one religion can be singled out, and in turn, schools can teach about a variety of them.
