Addie’s 25-year-old father, Abel Rodriguez, couldn’t be there for the cheer, as he was training at Travis Air Force Base, in California. Addie began to cry, thinking of how much she missed her dad.
Matthew Garcia, 17-years-old, and a senior at the high school, was quick-thinking and ran down from the stands, lifting her up onto his shoulder like all the other dads.
