The internet’s obsession with all things cat-related doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon; so, it’s only natural that just about every one of us would appreciate the photography of Robert Sijka. Sijka, of 550px.com, said his two biggest passions in the world are photography, and cats. In these portraits of Maine Coon cats, he does an excellent job at combining both. His love of the Maine Coon cats is evident, and captured beautifully against a black background. There is often the negative stereotype regarding the relationship between the postman and the post-recipients’ dogs. Pippa and postman, Martin Struder, however, are a wonderful exception to this. Pippa is an adorable dog that lives in Brisbane, and collects her family’s post daily, so that they don’t have to. Not only does she perform the task, but it seems to give her joy. Each morning, she greets Martin at the end of the drive as soon as she sees him; however, there are some days where he has no mail to give. Parrots are naturally found in tropical and sub-tropical climates, but we also see them frequently as pets, due to their being-adorable and also their intelligence. Their strong, curved bills and bright colors make them an attractive pet to have, as well as the ability to speak on the level of a four or five-year-old human. They’re one of the most intelligent birds in the world, and their ability to mimic human speech is one of the traits that make them so popular. Many parrot parents forget that what they say around their “children” can be picked up and repeated at the most inappropriate time; they really pick up on everything! In this day-and-age of modern technology, it seems like we should be able to do just about anything, right? That includes identifying and being able to discover animals. While we like to think that, it proves to be a lot more difficult than what meets the eye. We like to think we’ve only explored a small part of our oceans because of pressure, but the truth is, is that much of our forests are also undiscovered and unexplored. It would seem that a creature such as Bigfoot or the Abominable Snowman would be easier to catch on film, as they’re on land, like us mere humans are. Although this is definitely untrue, one man had the genius idea of strapping a GoPro to the back of his dog, and may have accomplished just that!
