Prey animals are able to see a wide panorama, and have better peripheral vision to see predators coming from the side or from behind. Animals with forward-facing eyes are considered to be the opposite: predators. Who knew we were predators, huh?
We’re right there along with wolves, owls, lions, and more. As the eyes move forward along the face, two fields of vision combine, which allows us to perceive depth. This gives us a sort of 3D vision, that is beneficial when hunting prey.
