He said he would go home and feel awful that there was nothing he could do, but the day he saw Sonya on Google Maps, he took it as a sign (especially because it was approaching 100 degrees). He reached out to the founder of Hope for Paws, Eldad Hagar.
Hope for Paws is known for rescuing animals and making a difference in the LA area. Hagar did some research and found out that Sonya, had been living on the streets for at least ten years!

He told Patrick and Jennifer that if they could find a family for Sonya, he would rescue her. Patrick knew his mom was already fostering another dog, and knew she would be perfect.
