Ginger, the red heeler, is the beloved dog of a U.S. soldier and her daughter. She went missing after running away from home and the family searched relentlessly for her, but after time, began to fear she would not be found.

U.S. Army Sergeant Dahlberg was checking local rescues online when she spotted Ginger at Sacramento’s Front Street Animal Shelter.
