Again and again, a simple act of compassion could already make all the difference. We live in a kind of society where certain standards–most of them highly superficial–should be met that we go crazy over the littlest mistakes we make and the tiniest flaws we have. But, if we try to respect each other’s differences and not demean people’s weaknesses, this world will surely be a better place.

Eleven-year-old Ben Twist–a young boy with autism–burned the midnight candles just to pass his SAT exams. He worked hard just like everyone else. Despite his preparations, he failed.

But, the school’s heartwarming response was something Ben’s mom, Gail, didn’t ever expect!
