Thalia the cat, and Jemelda the dog, were both found abandoned separately, until GAHS saved them. Jemelda was obviously traumatized by whatever had happened in her past, afraid of just about everyone, and everything.
Although with time, she improved and was visibly happier, she never developed any kind of bond with any of the others; that is, until Tahlia came along.
