Trauma is not something you can just get over overnight. It can change the makeup of a brain and be extremely hard to overcome. For some of the dogs being rescued for South Korea’s dog meat markets, this is all too apparent. Many dogs have been known to completely freeze up when arriving in their new, safe environments out of distrust and fear.
After living with all human contact being bad contact, how can they trust any person? Surely any good home will turn bad.
