Abusive relationships are terrible for everyone in the household, except the abuser of course. Nicole, an alias as she was scared to use her real name, had been in an abusive relationship for years, but she stayed through the abuse. When her boyfriend decided that hurting her dog, Cuddles, she decided that enough was enough.
Nicole waited until her boyfriend left the house, and packed up everything that her and her daughter could fit into a garbage bag. Nicole informed her little girl that it was time to go and leave everything they had known behind.
