Smaller dogs often exhibit a condition known as “small dog syndrome”. Ever notice how most small dogs are yappy, snappy, jealous, protective, and sometimes vicious? Why is this so? Well, we often tend to treat little animals differently than big ones. We let them get away with biting and jumping on us, because it doesn’t hurt as much as it would if it were a bigger animal.

It’s an undesirable set of behaviors that little dogs often acquire or are born with. There are many signs that your dog has this condition. All of these traits they exhibit are because they feel that they are in charge of their “pack”, or the home. Cats are not typically known for having this condition, mostly because cats are typically the same size, and don’t feel the same need to consistently be the “leader of the pack”, like dogs do.
