Noni Boen gets sad text messages and pictures of abandoned animals that tug on her heartstrings every day. And she always answers them. Noni works with several rescues in the San Bernardino, California area and they call her when the dumped-off animals are too young, old, sick, or helpless to be left in a shelter.
Noni is on the front lines caring for these animals constantly until she can find them foster homes. Tuesday morning, Noni received a picture that was different from all of the rest and featured Sunny, a seven-week-old Chihuahua who was still wearing a knitted sweater from his previous owner.
