Husband Takes His Wife To Her Last Chemotherapy. Now Keep Your Eyes On The Flowers

Fighting cancer is exhausting, so what better way for that strength to be celebrated than by receiving 500 roses? Brad Bousquet decided to give his wife Alissa exactly that after she underwent three surgeries and then had her final chemo treatment at the Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center on Omaha. He even threw in a donation towards breast cancer research in her name. Wow! Brad pulled off this amazing stunt with the help of their four children and a small, close community in Nebraska. On a Facebook post, he wrote, “Today is my wife’s last chemotherapy treatment. She has amazed me with her strength, courage, and positive attitude through it all.” He added that “wanted to do something special during this last treatment to celebrate the end of her chemo and to show her the tremendous love and support she has from her friends and family.” He had previously sent out a text to many of Alissa’s friends and family, asking for them to spread the word and help shower her with roses from a local flower shop. Each rose cost $10.00 – all of which would go to the Susan G. Komen towards breast cancer research. The orders started out as only a few, but soon skyrocketed to 500 roses as over 170 families chipped in. At this point, he asked the shop to stop ordering roses, instead letting any addition money that came in go straight to donations. The raised over $4500 in total. Brad’s children made the delivery to their mother as she came out of her last chemo treatment. After she’d seen all of them, the family shared the roses with other cancer patients receiving treatment that day. Brad wrote in a card addressed to the hospital that each rose represented his family’s support towards theirs. You’re About To Watch A First-Ever Footage Of A Great White Shark Napping!

When you think of great white, the Jaws theme song probably starts playing in your head. These creatures are known for being fearsome predators, and although many are aware that they are friendlier than they seem, it’s certain that very few imagine a great white getting forty winks mid-swim. A team of scientists from Pelagios Kakunjá and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution were following and tracking a great white shark they’d dubbed Emma as she made her way through the seas. They found the shark swimming in the shallow waters surrounding Guadalupe Island, near Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula. The researchers then witnessed something never seen before. Emma, one of the kings and queens of the sea, appeared to be taking a nap. Take a look at this video! The great white swam face first into a 3km / hour current, her mouth gaping open as she went. She barely appeared to moving much aside from to swim, and she seemed to be in an almost catatonic state. Her daze was attributed to a sleep-like state. However, she cannot truly ever sleep, for failing to continue to swim would be fatal for her. The current that she swam through in her sleep allowed oxygen-rich water to pass through her gills easily. Everyone needs to nap once in a while, even these terrifying predators. Don’t believe me? In An American Girl Store, This Bald Doll Made A Mother Cry. When You See Why? OMG.

This mother and daughter received the best gift of all after walking into an American Girl store and seeing beautiful dolls that represented more than just the average child. Mia was diagnosed with alopecia areata at the age of four. It’s an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss. Her mother, Meredith Bailey, has always worked to make sure Mia felt strong and healthy despite her diagnosis. Last Christmas, Mia received an American Girl doll that looked like her – it, too, was bald. Thrilled, she named it Alopecia. Later on, however, she reflected on the fact that she never saw the doll in stores. This saddened her mother, who longed for other children like Mia to get to see their likeness in these dolls. And that’s when it happened. The pair visited an American Girl store recently, and were pleasantly surprised to see plenty of dolls just like Alopecia out on display in the open. It moved Bailey to tears. She shared her feelings on Facebook, saying, “These dolls were not hidden in the back and had to be asked for…to little girls who may feel ‘alone’ and so desperately want to see dolls that reflect their beauty — it means more than you know. I cried many happy tears yesterday. Thank you so much for including ALL children.” But that’s not all – American Girl also makes wheelchairs, hearing aids, and diabetic tests for their dolls. It’s truly refreshing to see all children being represented in their toys. Like and share if you agree! Feature Image Source: Meredith Bailey

Heartbroken Mother Misses Her Babies. But When She Turns Around? I’m All Tears

It was June 2016 when a text message arrived on Rachael Sylvester’s phone. It talked about a litter of young puppies – seven of them! – who needed rescuing in South Africa. Rachael runs Sidewalk Specials, a unique rescue organization that takes the adoption out of the shelter environment with adoption days at Cape Town markets and a strong social media presence, so she’s used to texts like this. The owner of the litter agreed to send over the puppies, but not their mother. Rachael figured it couldn’t be that bad. She was quite wrong; the young fur balls were in a bad state. They had fleas, ticks, worms, and were weak and hungry. To make matters worse, they were missing their mother a lot. Rachael knew that if the pups were in this condition, the mother might be, too. She knew a rescue was in order. The original owner of the puppies eventually agreed to give them the mother. She hadn’t stood up in two days and was severely malnourished, with vets giving her a 50/50 chance of survival. But the strong pup pulled through, and was surprised with her babies! Their heartwarming reunion was a much-awaited one. Take a look at this video Now, the pups live in a foster home, and five of the puppies have been adopted and brought into new families! However, a brother and sister puppy and the mama pup herself are still in need of forever loving homes. If you’d like to adopt one or all of these lovely pups, you can contact Rachael at 0791992253. Please like and share to help these pups find the homes they deserve! Feature Image Source: Sidewalk Specials
