On Wednesday, the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA in California received something a bit atypical from their usual receival of animals. The staff was shocked to discover that a visitor had left a huge wad of $20 bills in the donation box, amounting to $8,000! The money was much-needed, as they take care of around 12,000 animals per year!
Many animal shelters are in great need of money, as they often are non-profit organizations and receive the majority, if not all, of their money, from donations.
