Emmanuel Kelly was born into war-torn Iraq. Because of the chemical warfare that had run rampant in the country, both Emmanuel and his brother, Ahmed, had very underdeveloped limbs. It is believed that because of this, they were abandoned, and left for dead in a shoebox.
Luckily, they were found, and taken to an orphanage. Their luck was about to get a lot better in 1998, when famous Australian humanitarian, Moira Therese Kelly, found them at Mother Teresa Orphanage in Baghdad, and adopted them.
