Biologists Find Strange Googly-Eyed Creature Under The Sea… And It’s Cute!!

3,000 under the sea, laying on the ocean floor off the California coast, lives a googly-eyed little purple squid. Susan Paulson, a spokeswoman for Nautilus Live, said that the squid was captured on film by a team of scientific explorers aboard the E/V Nautilus, last week. For the vast majority of people, this is a species they’ve never seen before, even on video. Some have compared the squid to “a cross between a Pokémon and a Pacman ghost”. In the video, various researchers can be heard making humorous comments about the little guy. “He has weird eyes,” one says. Another exclaims, “It looks like a child dropped his toy!”. Odessa Swartz was at the top of her league in the 80’s and 90’s, but apartheid in her native country of South Africa, kept her from competing on the largest stage she could ever hope to be on: the Olympics. Although she is not competing this time around, she is finally getting a taste of what Olympic glory feels like, from her son, Wayne van Niekerk. Van Niekerk, 24, broke the world record in men’s 400-meter, Sunday, taking gold in Rio de Janeiro. He beat the 2008 and 2012 medalists with a time of an astonishing 43.03 seconds. A Colorado woman named, Taylor Masilotti, did just that, and caught it all on film; but there’s something particularly special about this moment. Masilotti found out the news while her terminally ill mother who passed away three days later, was laying beside her. Her mother, Donna Callender, had stage 4 brain and lung cancer while the both of them watched the screen as the ultrasound was performed. At 19 weeks, Taylor had planned for her mother to come with her to her appointment at the 20-week-mark, but when Donna’s health started to decline further, they moved it up to that same week. This Shelter Has Come Up With A Delicious Way To Help Dogs Get Adopted!

If you’ve ever spent any amount of time at an animal shelter, you know that they lead lonely, monotonous lives while they’re there; waiting patiently, hoping to impress the next person who walks by, so they hopefully take you home to live a “real” life. While the shelter employees can’t exactly make the situation go away, they can at least make their lives while at the shelter, a little bit more bearable. In April, at the Kitsap Humane Society, in Kitsap County, Washington, The Puppuccino Pals program began. In the town of Iquitos, Peru, seeing a starving dog on the streets is somewhat normal. Every day, a particular one of these emaciated dogs would stand in the streets in front of busy restaurants and shops, but no one paid him any attention and turned away. Like he wasn’t even there. One day, two kindhearted women named Joyci and Bianca, rescued him and began nursing him back to health.
