Being a soldier not only is tough on the soldier, but tough on their families, as well. They are often gone for long periods of time, in sometimes unknown conditions and environments. This makes for very emotional meetings, once the families and soldiers are reunited. U.S. Army soldier, Sgt. Carlos Solis Melendez, was deployed in Kuwait.
When he returned home, he had the idea to surprise his daughter, Solymar Solis, a high school senior in South Carolina. With the help of Solymar’s teacher, he and Solymar’s aunt were able to execute it perfectly. During her first period economics class one day, her teacher asked her to run an errand that took her out of the classroom. She took the teacher’s envelope, and left the room to complete her errand.
While she was gone, Melendez snuck into the classroom.
What happened next is just going to melt your heart!
