Apart from their being great providers, they’re also the best protectors their children could ever have. They would sacrifice their own lives just to make sure their kids are safe and sound. The world can get a bit too cruel sometimes that it is a real tough challenge to remain kind and compassionate. Like, if other people treat you like garbage, why would you not do the same, too? Why not be flat-out bad, too? But, here’s a mother pit bull to teach us a thing or two about not being hardened by the brutalities of life. This beautiful creature was abandoned right at the doorstep of the Sacramento SPCA one day. But, here’s what surprised the staff even more: She got 10 newly delivered puppies with her! Mom was still bleeding when she was discovered, meaning she had just given birth to her babes. She got no chain whatsoever. She could’ve easily forsaken her tots and ran for her life. She, however, took the higher road and remained a mother to her helpless babies. She stuck with them. Man, who’s chopping those damn onions? Seriously, who can walk out on these adorable angels? Though the shelter was more than happy to house the abandoned dogs, they were worried they might not be able to sufficiently nurture such huge family. If they separated momma from her kids, the babies may suffer. But, you know, good things happen to good folks. Because momma pit bull is as selfless as she could be, help came immediately. A big-hearted human being was willing to take care of them! All 11 of them! The foster dad took them with him, and created a safe haven for the dogs at his own place. They’ll be staying with him for a number of months until the puppies are ready for adoption. This is quite a relief, you guys! The guy is actually proud of his new kiddos he’s been sharing pictures of them all over social media. They’re finally home.

Bet you can never imagine yourself seeing just black and white. How much of a struggle would it be if you don’t have the ability to see and identify colors in their truest forms? How is it being colorblind? Meet brothers Jace and Jimmy Papenhausen. They are colorblind. They never saw colors their whole lives. But, they got awesome parents who would do anything just to make living a lot better and easier for them. Mr. and Mrs. Papenhausen recently bought one amazing doohickey from EnChroma, a tech company that creates special spectacles for the colorblind. Thank the heavens there is a video footage of that fateful day the two guys tried on the glasses. Ugh, this is going to be quite emotional. Take a look at their reactions. State Supreme Court Finds Dogs Are â€œSentient Beings,â€ Not Mere Property

Dogs, and other pets, have always been considered mere property by the law. This means that they are legally considered to be on the same level as furniture, which cannot be searched without permission from their owners or a warrant. However, all this changed last week, when the Oregon Supreme Court issued a landmark ruling that instigated dogs as â€œsentient beings capable of experiencing pain, stress and fearâ€. While we may already be well aware of a dogâ€™s sentience, this court ruling is a significant step forward in the fight against animal abuse. The ruling places pups between mere objects and human, stating that they can be bought, sold, and killed for food, but also decreeing that they should be protected from abuse and neglect. This turn was taken due to events that began in 2010 with the case of a dog named Juno. Portland resident, Amanda Newcomb, was allegedly leaving Juno in a kennel for hours on end as well as beating and starving him. The reports of Junoâ€™s mistreatment led to an animal cruelty investigator with the Oregon Humane Society arriving on scene to look into the allegations. Juno was found with â€œno fat on his bodyâ€ according Oregon Live, and had been â€œeating at random things in the yard, and trying to vomitâ€. Juno was taken to a veterinarian at the Oregon Humane Society, who found him severely emaciated. On a body condition score, Juno was graded with a 1.5 out of 9. The vet then drew Junoâ€™s blood to test for parasites or other health conditions that may have caused his lack of health. None were found, and Newcomb was charged with second-degree animal neglect. During her trial, Newcomb argued that Juno was property and therefore the blood drawn from the pup was illegally done without a warrant. However, the prosecutor compared the vetâ€™s investigation to what they would have done for a child. After crossing a few hurdles, the Oregon court now has a law that pets are more than property and must be given basic care. Amazing progress!
